So yeah, I saw the E3 preview for 'Half-Life 2' today. What was my initial reaction? Who - leey shit! I simply turned to my friend and commented, "That's it. After this, there are no more games."
Now, before you go on reading, you must know that I am completely obsessed with 'Half-Life'. Probably a bit too obsessed with 'Half-Life'. From time to time, I wear a Half-Life shirt, play and map for it in my spare time, and know everything there is to know about it. Hell, 1/4 the reason I'm growing a goatee is 'cause of Gordon Freeman.
The demo itself was a god-like 25 minutes of pure bliss. The video consisted of a game played through several levels created to display certain aspects of the engine and gameplay.
It started with the all too recognizable old model of GMan. It then switched to a view of the new (corpse-like) model. I swear to god, the second he started expressing life-like emotions, my upper torso went numb. Thank god they kept the previous voice actors. The voice of GMan suits him sooo much. He said some not-so-kind words, then the true demo started.
Well .. I'll make this fast. God-Awesome water effects were displayed, God-Awesome physics were tampered with, and God-Awesome AI was put to use. Damnit, now my left arm is all tingly again.
